Timeline of Principal Selection Process – South July 2015 Kristin Waters resigns as Principal at South HS – effective January 2016 August 2015 Launched Principal search process and contracted with National Candidate search firm Met with Faculty from South to overview the process Began the creation of an Advisory Committee to assist in the process of evaluating candidates. Organized opportunities for various groups to give input into the desired charactersitics of the next Principal for students, parents/community and staff September2015 CSC Meeting held to outline process Parent/Community Forum Student Input Session Faculty Input Session Distributed short survey – paper format and online Advisory Committee nomination forms available October - November 2015 Monitor pool of candidates Confirm members of the Advisory committee, focus groups and provide training (Week of November 16) December 2015 Review pre-screened candidates using Schwartz & Associates, an organization that will help guide this process to ensure the best candidate. The school-based process begins this week and the Advisory Committee will interview candidates. We will also hold school tours as well as focus groups with teachers, students and parents. Our school community is invited to a candidate forum to learn about the 2-3 finalists and ask questions. The finalists will interview with Superintendent Tom Boasberg. We hope to have a final recommendation by December 11 th Week of December 14 th Pending the outcome of this process, we will name a new school leade

Be prepared to share and discuss with the larger group. Part I: Principal Selection Focus Areas – School Based Assessment Part II: Alignment of skills/attributes with the DPS School Leadership Framework Next Steps: We will synthesize the input from the various engagement sessions to inform the Principal selection criteria.
