There are many animals in the pictures. Q: Which is the tallest animal ? Ans: Q: Which animal is as tall as the giraffe ? Ans: Q : Which animal is taller than any other animal ? Ans:

READ THE TEXT. Now you can easily compare each animal with all other animals. It is possible by using the three form of any adjective or adverbs such as- Tall Beautiful Taller More beautiful Tallest Most beautiful They are called respectively positive, comparative and superlative form of adjective. Notice that we have used “ tallest” to describe the highest height of the animals in the picture. It is called superlative degree.

Examples: The giraffe is the tallest animal. Or, The giraffe is the tallest of all other animals. Sentence pattern : Subject + be verb + the + superlative form of adjective. The same idea can be described in another way- The giraffe is taller than any other animal.

It is called comparative degree. Sentence pattern : Subject + be verb + comparative form of adjective + than any other + noun/pronoun ( the common name of the subject ) We can also say – No other animal is as tall as the giraffe --- It is called positive degree. Sentence pattern : No other +noun + be verb + as + positive form of adjective + as + Name of the thing/person.

. Answer the questions. Q : What is the biggest city in Bangladesh ? Then change it into comparative and positive degree. Q: Which is longer than any other river ? Then change it into comparative and positive degree. Q: Which is longer than any other river ? Then change it into superlative and positive degree. Now look at the question and write the answer of it in your exercise book.
