So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. Lesson 1.1

 It is a collection of books – stories, poems, letters, wisdom, promises, and prophecies.  It includes the Old Testament (written in Hebrew) and the New Testament (written in Greek) – spanning 2000 years (1500 BC – AD 100).  According to Christians, the Bible is God’s very word communicated through human authors (2 Tim 3:16-17).

Bible Study Vocabulary:  Exegesis: the study of Scripture in which a person looks for the original interpretation or meaning of the passage.  Hermeneutics: the study of how the Bible applies to our lives.
