The Prison Epistles A Study of the Letters Paul Wrote While Imprisoned in Rome Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, & Philemon

Outline of Ephesians All spiritual blessings are from God and available to man “in Christ” (1:3, Chapters 1 - 3) God showed his favor toward man, He gave his Son to purchase the forgiveness of our sins, and He provided a plan for our salvation and fellowship with Him. Walk worthy of your calling (4:1, Chapters 4 - 6) Because of what God has done for us, and because of the great price that was paid for our sins and the great benefit we have as Christians, we must follow God as children, living as our Father instructs us.

Ephesians 5:22 – 6:9 Wives and Husbands, Children and Parents, Servants and Masters Good lesson material: The Church In Ephesians The Church In Ephesians James 3:1-2 Eph 5:22-33 Husbands and wives 5:32-33 Paul reveals much about Jesus’ relationship to his church by comparing it to the husband and wife relationship: –The husband is head of the wife as Christ is head of the church (23) –Wives are to be subject to their husbands as the church is subject to Christ (24) –Husbands love your wives as Christ loved the church (25) –Husbands nourish and cherish your wife as Christ does the church (29) –We are members of his body, his flesh, his bones (30-31)
