What is Commonwealth The Commonwealth is an organization made up of 53 countries from all over the world. It was created from countries that were a part of the British Empire or had strong links with Britain. The Commonwealth promotes international understanding and world peace. The full name for the Commonwealth is the Commonwealth of Nations, and it was previously known as the British Commonwealth.
