Who do we serve? Single female parent where childcare is a barrier to treatment The primary client in the family unit is the parent The client must have custody of the children Children must be able to stay with the parent in treatment for the 6 week stay Dependent children must be 0-12 years of age Priority will be given to those:  Clients at high risk for relapse  Clients that are pregnant or nursing  Acceptance of Single male parents and their children will be considered at a later date The Family Treatment Centre is a 6 week inpatient addictions treatment facility for Mothers with dependent children where childcare is a barrier to treatment. It is designed for women who want to stop the cycle of substance misuse in their life. Mothers and children have specialized living quarters which enables them to live together as a single family unit. Mothers have access to professional daycare and an educational classroom for older children while they are in programming. The goal for treatment is to support clients while they learn the skills and gather the information they need to successfully manage their addiction so that it does not have a negative impact on their lives and the lives of their children. The primary focus of the Centre is treatment for addiction. Because the underlying philosophy of the Centre is holistic and gender- responsive care, we recognize the need to provide mental health treatment (including trauma counseling).
