TITTLE : HOW TO MAKE FELT & FABRIC BROOCHES NAME : SITI AISAH BINTI ABU MATRIK CARD : B01SPM14F015 CLASS : SPM2B NAME LECTURER : GURMINDERJEET KAUR

 Fabric(ideally with a small scale print)and an iron.  Felt,to coordinate or contrase with your chosen fabric.  Sewing thread to match the felt  Brooch clasps  Sewing scissors  Needle and pins  The templates provided  Scissors  Tracing paper and a pencil

 Print the templates provided and cut out the ones you need.Using tracing paper will allow you to see the fabric print through the tamplete when you re positioning it. 

 Iron your chosen fabric to remove any crease.Pin your chosen large template to the fabric, carefully cut out the fabric shape then remove the pin.

 Pin the fabric shape to a piece of felt, leaving some space around the edge of the shape.Sew a line of small running stitches around the inside of the fabric shape,a few millimetres from the edge.Remove the pin.

 Use the template provided to cut out the required small felt shape-a circle or heart –from a second shade of felt.Sew the felt shape in position on the fabric shape with more running stitches.you can use contrasting thread colour as before so your stitching will be visible or matching thread so it will be hidden.Skip this steps if you re making a small heart brooch.

 Trim away the excess felt from around the fabric shape, leaving a few millimetres of felt around the edge of the fabric to frame it.

 Now use the shape you ve just cut out as a template to cut out a matching piece of felt the same colour. This second pieces of felt will be the back of your Brooch.

 Turn over the backing shape and sew a brooch clasp slightly above the centre of the shape.Use a double thickness of matching sewing thread and sew the clasp securely in position.

 Hold the front and backof the brooch together and sew around the edge with a running stitch, joining the felt layers together.Use sewing thread to match the felt and sew flush with the edge of the fabric,so the stitching is hidden.Finish your stitching neatly at the back.
