 The Hunger Games is a 2012 American science fiction action film directed by Gary Ross, based on the novel of the same name by Suzanne Collins.

 The nation of Panem, formed from a post-apocalyptic( 毁 灭 后的 时 代 ) North America, including a wealthy Capitol and twelve poorer surrounding districts. As a punishment for a previous rebellion( 叛乱 )against the Capitol by the districts, one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 from each district are selected by an yearly lottery( 碰运气的事 ) ， known as the “Reaping” ， to join in the Hunger Games.
