The Challenges No Up to date Local Plan No 5 Year Housing Supply Developer Pressure –Multiple applications (currently 15 “live” applications) –Planning Boards –Appeals and Public Enquiry Training for planning officers/LPA interpretation With all that – we have a LEGAL CHALLENGE!! Therefore our NDP is not yet full Planning Policy carrying the weight it should in the planning process

Lessons Learnt 1)Make it very clear, development and change will happen 2)A good team is essential 3)Stick to timelines as much as possible 4)Factor in when / if consultants will be required 5)Keep consultation periods concise 6)Be prepared to listen and change your views 7)DON’T listen to people who tell you, you can’t – YOU CAN 8)We are here to help – NP Champions network 9)Above all enjoy it
