Your presence on earth as a visible witness of God’s grace should be reinforced by a verbal witness to other people. [Link: Let them see You in me]Let them see You in me

1. What is the source of power Jesus gave us with which to witness? 2. Who are we to witness about? 3. Where did the early Christians witness? __________________________(their own home) __________________________(their own country) __________________________(the entire world) Acts 1:8 “ Acts 1:8 “ But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”. (NIV)

1. Matthew 18: Matthew 18: Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (NIV) What four things did Jesus tell us to do? First, _____, then make______, then_____ them, and ____them to observe His commands.

2. 2 Peter 3:9 “ 2. 2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”(NIV) What is God’s will for everyone?

3. Romans 10 : Romans 10 : for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” 14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” What must a person do before he can be saved? Before one can call, he must ____. To believe, one must first ____ the message. To hear, someone must ____ it to them (a.k.a. witness). Why?

4. Mark 5 : 9 “ 4. Mark 5 : 9 “Jesus did not let him, but said, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you..” Who should be the first ones you witness to?

5. Acts 22 : Acts 22 : 15 “ You will be his witness to all people of what you have seen and heard.; 1 John 1 : 3 1 John 1 : 3 We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.”(NIV) We are to witness about that which we have ____and _____.

6. Acts 4 : 9 “ 6. Acts 4 : 9 “In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, always give thanks for everything to God the Father.” (NIV) What did Peter and John request from God as they witnessed for Him?

7. John 16 : 7, 8 “ 7. John 16 : 7, 8 “7 But I tell you I am going to do what is best for you. This is why I am going away. The Holy Spirit cannot come to help you until I leave. But after I am gone, I will send the Spirit to you. 8 The Spirit will come and show the people of this world the truth about sin and God's justice and the judgment. ”(CEV) Who convicts the world of sin, of the availability of God’s righteousness, and of judgment to come?

8. John 14 : 26 “ 8. John 14 : 26 “But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.”(AMP) Who is the “Comforter, Counselor, Advocate”?

It’s most effective to have a plan when you share about Jesus with someone else. You should briefly write out your won personal testimony. Follow the simple outline below to help organize your thoughts. 1) What was your life like before you believed in Jesus? 2) How did you receive Jesus? What were the circumstances that led up to your decision? What did you pray? 3) How has your life changed since accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior? How does He help you in the problems at home, school, or work?

“And He said to them, Come after Me [as disciples–letting Me be your Guide], follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men!” [Link: Jesus calls Peter ]Jesus calls Peter

Who told us we should witness to others? Who is our power to witness? What is your biggest obstacle in witnessing?
