1 MISSION Lesson 13 for June 27, 2009

2 “For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!” Romans 10:13-15

3 Every person needs to be preached about the Gospel.
Jesus makes everything possible for everyone to be saved. He wants His followers to take part in carrying out such a privileged task. That’s why He gave us the Great Commission.

4 WHAT IS THE GREAT COMMISSION?
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.” (Matthew 28:19-20) WHAT IS THE GREAT COMMISSION?

5 WHAT IS THE GREAT COMMISSION?
“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.” (Mark 16:15-16) WHAT IS THE GREAT COMMISSION?

6 WHAT IS THE GREAT COMMISSION?
“As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” (John 20:21) WHAT IS THE GREAT COMMISSION?

7 WHAT IS THE GREAT COMMISSION?
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8) WHAT IS THE GREAT COMMISSION?

8 TWO WAYS TO FULFILL THE GREAT COMMISSION
AS THE CHURCH AS A PERSON Revelation 14:6-11 1 Peter 3:15

9 THE COMMISSION OF THE CHURCH
“Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people— saying with a loud voice, ‘Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.’ ” Revelation 14:6-7

10 THE COMMISSION OF THE CHURCH
“And another angel followed, saying, ‘Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.’ ” THE COMMISSION OF THE CHURCH Revelation 14:8

11 THE COMMISSION OF THE CHURCH
“Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, ‘If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.’ ” Revelation 14:9-11

12 THE COMMISSION OF THE CHURCH
“The three angels of (Revelation 14) are represented as flying in the midst of heaven, symbolizing the work of those who proclaim the first, second, and third angels’ messages… The influence of these messages has been deepening and widening, setting in motion the springs of action in thousands of hearts, bringing into existence institutions of learning, publishing houses, and health institutions. All these are instrumentalities of God to co-operate in the grand work represented by the first, second, and third angels, the work of warning the inhabitants of the world that Christ is coming the second time with power and great glory.” (Testimony Treasures, vol. 2, p )

13 “Always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.” 1 Peter 3:15 PERSONAL TESTIMONY

14 Everyone who has accepted Christ as his or her Savior is called to speak about Him to others.
How can I do it? God has given you gifts to fulfill your mision in a special way. “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” Ephesians 4:11-12

15 Everyone who has accepted Christ as his or her Savior is called to speak about Him to others.
How can I do it? “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.” God has given you gifts to fulfill your mision in a special way. You receive power and enablement from the Holy Spirit to fulfill it. John 14:26 “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8

16 “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Everyone who has accepted Christ as his or her Savior is called to speak about Him to others. How can I do it? God has given you gifts to fulfill your mision in a special way. You receive power and enablement from the Holy Spirit to fulfill it. Jesus has promised that He will be always with you. You are not alone. “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:20, NIV

17 If we want to share Jesus with others, we must know Him closely.
We will get to know Him better if we are in communion with Him and study His word.
