Student Information Pleasant Grove High School BACK TO SCHOOL

Tardies All tardies for 1 st /2 nd period will be issued at the attendance desk from Mrs. Buchanan. If you are late to 1 st /2 nd period you will have detention that day. Tardies occurring after 1 st /2 nd period should report to the classroom. If you are not inside the classroom when the bell rings you will be considered tardy. Teachers will be closing their doors at the tardy bell. Please hurry to class!

Consequences for Tardies Tardies will be cumulative for class periods 3-8. Tardies will be accumulated over the semester. Each semester the tardy records will be cleared and consequences will start over. Important! Parent notes will NOT be accepted.

Discipline for Tardies 1 st - 3 rd tardy – Warning 4 th – 6 th tardy – Detention (30 minutes in Lecture Hall) 7 th – 8 th tardy – ½ Day Thursday 9 th – 10 th tardy – Full Thursday 11 th – 13 th tardy – 1 Day ISS 14 th tardy – 2 Days ISS 15 th tardy – 3 Days ISS Detention is held in the cafeteria and students must report to Mr. Kenney or Mrs. Eldridge first before eating lunch. If you fail to attend Lunch Detention you will have additional lunch detentions, not ISS. Thursday Night Live is held in the Lecture Hall; ½ day is from 3:30 – 5:30; Full Day is from 3:30 – 7:30.

Lunches ALL students will report to the cafeteria to eat lunch. You may not eat lunch anywhere in the building other than the cafeteria. We do not have off campus lunch. Doors will be monitored. Athletic facilities, locker rooms, hallways, etc. are off limits during the lunch periods. You must have a pass to leave the cafeteria area. Parents who bring outside food to students must drop it off inside. Students are not allowed to go out to parking lot to get lunch.

Cell Phone Policy (Consequences) 1st Offense: Parent notification, keeping the phone the rest of the day. 2nd Offense: Parent notification, $15 fine and phone is held in the principal’s office for 3 calendar days and until fine is cleared and parent collects the phone. 3rd Offense: Parent notification, $15 fine and phone is held in the principal’s office for 6 calendar days and until fine is cleared and parent collects the phone. Subsequent Offense: Cell phone is held in the principal’s office until the end of the semester.

Dress Code Highlights (All Students) The complete dress code is found in the Student Handbook. Failure to follow the Student Handbook will result in consequences. No hats, caps, bandanas or other headgear may be worn at any time inside the school building. If you are wearing a hat or other headgear inside of the building during the school day – the item will be confiscated and returned at the end of the school day. This also includes facial piercing. Yoga pants must be covered both front and back.

Behavior and Dress at School Sponsored Events The Principal or school administration may regulate the dress and grooming of students who attend school-sponsored events. Students who violate the standards may be removed or excluded from the activity for a period determined by the administration and may be subject to additional disciplinary action. Teachers and administrators have full authority over student conduct at before or after-school activities on district premises and at school-sponsored events off district premises. This includes all athletic events in which students are either participating or in attendance as a spectator.

Student Parking All student parking will be in the front parking lot only. Parking will be open to any student on a first come basis. You must have a valid parking sticker to park on campus. Failure to follow parking policy may result in removal of parking privileges and/or towing of vehicle.
