One Heart & One Soul Five Keys to Unleash God’s Power in the Church

Preaching in the Power of the Spirit 2:40 And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.” 41 So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls. Acts 2:40-41 (ESV)

Powerful Living in the Spirit 2:42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43 And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common. Acts 2:42-44 (ESV)

Healing in Jesus’ Name 3:4 And Peter directed his gaze at him, as did John, and said, “Look at us.” 5 And he fixed his attention on them, expecting to receive something from them. 6 But Peter said, “I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!” Acts 3:4-6 (ESV)

Powerful Witness 4:17 But in order that it may spread no further among the people, let us warn them to speak no more to anyone in this name.” 18 So they called them and charged them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John answered them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge, 20 for we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard.” Acts 4:17-20 (ESV)

Powerful Prayer 29 And now, Lord, look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness, 30 while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” 31 And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness. Acts 4:29-31 (ESV)

One Heart 32 Now the full number of those who believed were of one heart and soul… Acts 4:32 (ESV) Kardia - the heart, i.e. (figurative) the thoughts or feelings (mind); —Strong's the word came to stand for man's entire mental and moral activity, both the rational and the emotional elements. —Vine's

One Soul 32 Now the full number of those who believed were of one heart and soul, Acts 4:32 (ESV) Psychē : denotes "the breath, the breath of life," then "the soul," in its various meanings. —Vine's Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words soul 58; life 40; mind 3; heart 1; —Strong's

Everything in Common …and no one said that any of the things that belonged to him was his own, but they had everything in common. Acts 4:32 (ESV) 2:44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common. Acts 2:44 (ESV)

All Things “Not” In Common James 2:15 If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? 1Cor. 11:21 For in eating, each one goes ahead with his own meal. One goes hungry, another gets drunk. 22 …Or do you despise the church of God and humiliate those who have nothing?

Power & Grace Acts 4:33 And with great power the apostles were giving their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all.

God’s Power Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 11: 23 When he (Barnabas) came and saw the grace of God, he was glad, and he exhorted them all to remain faithful to the Lord with steadfast purpose, 24 for he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith.

Form of Godliness With No Power Matt 22:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. 2 Tim. 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Results of God’s Power at Work Acts 4:34 There was not a needy person among them, for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of what was sold 35 and laid it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to each as any had need.

Son of Encouragement 4:36 Thus Joseph, who was also called by the apostles Barnabas (which means son of encouragement), a Levite, a native of Cyprus, 37 sold a field that belonged to him and brought the money and laid it at the apostles’ feet.

Supplying the Need 2 Cor 8:13 For I do not mean that others should be eased and you burdened, but that as a matter of fairness 14 your abundance at the present time should supply their need, so that their abundance may supply your need, that there may be fairness. 15 As it is written, “Whoever gathered much had nothing left over, and whoever gathered little had no lack.”
