CHILD & FAMILY PSYCHOLOGY SERVICE  A specialist clinical psychology service providing assessment, differential diagnosis and therapeutic interventions to children with complex neurodevelopmental difficulties and their families who are within the Integrated Community Paediatric Service.  Referrals are accepted from Consultant Community Paediatricians.  The focus is on early intervention with children and families with complex developmental, behavioural or learning problems and other parenting struggles arising in the context of these underlying conditions, (e.g. forming a secure relationship with their child, understanding and adjusting to a diagnosis and/or other developmental needs).  Service delivery is based on a collaborative approach to help build resilience in children, families and the wider system.  The service works within integrated therapy teams as well as delivering specialist psychology pathways.
