Georgia 5-STAR Overview Georgia SHAPE Initiative Purpose: to recognize and award birthing hospitals for implementing evidence-based maternity care practices that promote and support breastfeeding One star is awarded for every two steps implemented of the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding, as defined by WHO and Baby- Friendly USA
