Types of Rhyming Near Rhyme Rhyming of words that sound close to each other in one part of the word. The following, for example, is from Maya Angelou’s “Phenomenal Woman:” What they see in me. They try so much But they can't touch My inner mystery. When I try to show them They say they still can't see. Me and see are single syllables and exact rhyme to each other. Mystery is multiple syllables and only rhymes with me and see in the last letter (not syllable). Exact Rhyme Words that sound the same.
