Diversity is Now Mission Critical

 It is well documented that STEM disciplines are the levers of economic growth now and into the future.  In order to meet President Obama’s challenge to have the “Best educated, most competitive work force in the world by 2020”, similar to his Tech Hire Initiative goals, the public, private and academic sectors will have to increase the number of STEM-related graduates and professionals to meet this ever growing demand.  To meet this challenge there are hundreds of STEM-related programs all over the country competing for the same pool of investment which has fragmented efforts and minimized the ability for a greater impact on this critical objective.
