Format of today’s session: 1.NCE-IKTP initiative – overview NCE-IKTP competition 3.LOI stage (Letter of Intent) 4.Answering your questions

1. NCE-KM-IKTP Initiative Goal To support international collaborations between networks, centres, consortia and their partners to accelerate knowledge translation in areas of mutual strategic interest.

1. (cont’d) Background Modeled on NCE-KM initiative International collaboration has become more important to the granting agencies Knowledge Translation implies commercialization in addition to traditional Knowledge Mobilization

(cont’d) Funding First cycle of up to four years (renewal possible for up to three years) Up to $400K per year = total of up to $1.6M per network Up to 8 Letters of Intent could be invited to submit Full Applications $4.8 M available in total for first cycle, therefore up to three networks could be funded.

1. (cont’d) What is funded? Networking and administration costs associated with knowledge translation NB: commercialization activities can also be funded. What is not funded? Research activities, students and stipends.

LOI Stage Must be submitted by academic applicant with academic host organization to receive funds Can be managed by a federally incorporated not-for-profit org, with a Board of Directors Eligibility determined by NCE Secretariat – fit to program, eligibility of applicant, eligibility of host, budget Form to complete, budget tables, plus free form
