California State Universities vs. University of California Most California State Universities offer degrees in Business Administration while most University of California schools offer a degree entitled Business Economics. The difference in the degrees is that the UC programs are more mathematically based and require that the student take at least one semester of calculus (Math 103) prior to transfer.
