Current undertakings of TESDA TESDA participates in the development of learning materials on Cookery and Dressmaking for Grades TESDA coordinates with DepEd for the training of the Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) teachers in order to map and organize the training program.

Current undertakings of TESDA TESDA provides inputs/comments on the current issue concerning the impact/effect of K – 12 to teachers/professors of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Part of the undertaking is the development of the Action Plan to cushion the impact of the Implementation of R.A TESDA participates in the formulation of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on the DOLE-DEPED-CHED- TESDA Joint Guidelines on the Implementation of the Labor and Management Component of RA (Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013).

Anticipation of future scenarios TESDA will be involved in the re-training and re- tooling of affected workers who will be moving out of the education sector. TESDA will administer the assessment and certification of those who will be trained for TVET in SHS. TESDA will facilitate the skills training, assessment, and certification of 20, 040 TLE teachers.

Anticipation of future scenarios TESDA will facilitate the skills training, assessment, and certification of HEI faculty who would want to teach certain qualifications under the tech-voc track in Senior High Schools. TESDA shall facilitate partnership arrangements between basic education institutions and technical- vocational institutions in the implementation of the tech-voc track in Senior High School

Challenges or obstacle encountered Capacity to meet the demands for the skills training, assessment and certification of the 20,040 TLE teachers of Public High schools.

Enabling factors that can ensure delivery of TESDA’s commitments Capacitate regional training institutions and trainers to facilitate the training for 20,040 TLE teachers, especially on qualifications included in the K-12 program. Develop additional assessors who could facilitate the assessment of graduates. Strengthen the application of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) in the assessment process.

Inter-agency Working Group Report to the Chairperson, Committee on Higher and Technical Education Developed the Frequently Asked Questions on the DOLE-DEPED-TESDA-CHED Joint Guidelines on the Implementation of the Labor and Management Component of Republic Act No (Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013); DOLE already published the Joint Guidelines in the newspapers last June 29, 2014 and said guidelines will be effective fifteen (15) days thereafter or by July 14, 2014;

Inter-agency Working Group Report to the Chairperson, Committee on Higher and Technical Education Formulated the draft bill on the Stabilization Fund entitled “An Act Establishing the Tertiary Education Stabilization Fund (TESSF) to Cushion the Impact of the Implementation of Republic Act No or the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013 to Teaching and Non-Teaching Personnel and Tertiary Education Institutions, Appropriating Funds Therefor, and For Other Purposes”; and Revised the Action Plans on the Implementation of RA

Inter-agency Working Group Report to the Chairperson, Committee on Higher and Technical Education Based on the latest meeting of the inter-agency body last July 2, 2014, TESDA moved for the inclusion of Technical Vocational Institutions (TVIs) with TESDA-registered programs as beneficiaries of the proposed stabilization fund. This will ensure that TVIs that might be similarly affected as HEIs by the implementation of the K to 12 Law will not be left out in the availment of the stabilization fund.
