3 Objectives WP2 Analyse the available training material in the light of the identified needs of project beneficiaries. Assessing how to better tune it to specific national and sectoral needs, also in terms of methodology and didactic approach. IPR issues will be considered, to be fixed with ad-hoc agreements for future exploitation, whenever needed. Expected results are the definition of optimal learning path for the target users and the planning of specific activities, criteria and standards for tailoring the available training material, methodology and infrastructure

10 Structure and content – Observations Almost all modules are focussing on the development of the infrastructure – Many overlapping / similar topics Need for one or more modules targetting ‘end-users’ of the infrastructure? – E.g. How to use services in a desktop application, a use case developed More modules to support management and monitoring of INSPIRE implementation? – E.g. Data and service sharing, link with other Directives Analysis

14 Method, materials and format – Observations Most modules rather following a ‘passive’ format – No webinars, no group work – What with interaction with tutor? Some modules without any audio / video – Just documents and PPT’s Expected work load – Not always clear whether work of the students is included  Provision of several methods and materials for the same modules ? Analysis

15 There are very good modules – They need to be better structured / organised ~ INSPIRE processes – They need to be ‘simplified’ avoiding overlaps – They need to be complemented with additional modules ~ end-users and foundational modules – They should be tailored to reflect local needs Some Italian versions Including Italian material (exercises, examples,...)  Best to adapt first a ‘European’ version Conclusions

18 3 – Basics of INSPIRE Data Specs – Add part (intro/summary) of UML modelling (?) – Focus on the methodology the standards – Limit data transformation to a summary – Illustrate data specs, add examples of well known products E.g. EuroRegionaMap Analysis modules

19 4 – Basics of INSPIRE Network Services – Drop part on geoportal – The ‘strategy’ for deployment should be better developed – CSW part is underdeveloped Should this be in this module, or rather one module on geoportal, catalogue and CSW? – Nothing on transformation and invoking services Add summary on difference network and spatial data services Add a part on orchestration of services Analysis modules

20 5 – Introduction to INSPIRE – Should focus more on examples of the use of the infrastructure Demo’s using services in an application (e.g. Q-GIS) – Part on the implementing rules is too detailed – Part on conformity of data and services is too detailed – Part on M&R should maybe be integrated in a module on management of the INSPIRE process Analysis modules

21 8 – Data specification advanced – Title is misleading, its focus is on transformation – Should be integrated with the other modules on harmonisation (?) – Part on conformity testing is missing – Is it covering enough the metadata aspects Usage metadata of the data specs Analysis modules
