 We are a registered charity with the purpose of organising social and fundraising activities to bring the school community together and to raise valued funds to benefit the school and its pupils Objectives 2

Key Highlights  Changed name from PTA to Friends Association of Bushy  Additional roles developed to enable more volunteers to get involved  Looked at funding strategy- to raise funds to benefit the most pupils  Agreement to focus funding on improving IT hardware- based on feedback from pupils, parents and school  Communication- via blog, green volunteer sheets, school and FAB newsletters, parentmail and - using class rep network  Delivered variety of social and fund raising events over the year  Raised significant amount of money for the school  Overall positive feedback from parent survey  Very grateful for support from the school community for FAB events 4

Key projects funded  Purchased wood to update playground benches- thanks to Mr Winter  Purchased new goal posts  £1500 library books  Funded Year 6 leavers refreshments and donated to leavers party  Funded Christmas theatre workshop  Purchased gazebos for school events  Purchased new chrome books- awaiting further information on ICT funding from School 5

 FAB Lead: Fiona Millard  Fireworks display for the Bushy Hill School Community  Licensed Bar/refreshments  Sell glo-sticks  Fun night for adults and children  Sponsorship for boards  Made a fantastic profit overall Events Fireworks Extravaganza 8

 FAB Lead: Steph Friend- Smith  Mufti day in aid of Christmas hamper donations  Used boards in school office to list class donations needed  13 Hampers made up by a team of volunteers one Friday  Raffle tickets sold and drawn on the last evening of the Christmas service  Profitable Christmas Hampers 9

 FAB Leads: Jeannette Middleton & Jo Blyth  Opportunity for children to buy Christmas presents for family members  Presents bought, wrapped and sold to the children  Event over 3 lunchtimes  Lot of effort  Worthwhile-the children love this event  Profitable Presents for Parents 10

 FAB leads: Jo & Michele  An event for parents/carers and friends of Bushy  Friday night 7.30 until 11pm  Well attended  Teams of 8  Meal from connisbees  Quiz master and preparation: Mr Danson  Profitable and Social Quiz night 11

 FAB leads: Jo, Michele & Jane  Thanks to Miss Furze & Mr Winter  School: 1 & 2 Km races  Cake stall, Easter Egg tombola, Quiz/Trail  Held Saturday pm pm  Well attended even though it was freezing  Positive feedback  Supported Eagle Radio Easter Egg appeal Events Easter Fun Run 12

 FAB leads: Kathy Roberts, Steph and Jo  Band  Licensed Bar/light refreshments  Fun night for adults and children  Saturday night 7-11 pm  Ticket sales were lower than hoped but those that attended enjoyed the event and have asked for it to continue  Made a profit overall Events Band Night 13

Areas of Focus and Development  Update and maintenance of paperwork on Charity Commission Website  Improving FAB/PTA website  Ensuring FAB continue to communicate clearly on what help is needed, where and when  Remember we are all volunteers- we can only run events based on positive help and support  Many working parents have requested family focused events on a weekend- as more time and energy  Ensure we spend funds to provide best added value/benefit for children's enjoyment and education at Bushy Hill Junior School 16
