1. Friends of South Malling School
Who are we?
Friends of South Malling School is our school’s parent/teacher group. We are all parents of pupils here so care deeply about supporting teachers, pupils and parents to deliver the best possible experience for our children.
As your child starts Reception, you automatically become a member of the Friends. We spend the money raised for the benefit of all children in the school, and you are welcome to bring us ideas or challenge what we’re doing.

What do we do?
We help to raise valuable funds to support creative learning projects, e.g. Reading Dogs; outdoor learning opportunities, e.g. Forest School equipment; play equipment, e.g. the wooden playboat and school trips, e.g., Lewes Castle and Herstmonceux Science Centre. We organise a varied calendar of fun events in which parents, teachers and pupils can get involved.
Come and join us
We’re a friendly group and would love new parents to join us. Being a ‘Friend’ is a great way to get to know other parents and staff, and to have an active role in your child’s school experience. Call Suzie Pitman on , or catch up with any of the committee members in the playground (see overleaf).

Give as you live - Shop through this website - and the Friends receive a percentage. The website covers many well-known retailers, such as Amazon.
Nestlé Box Tops for Books – Just cut the tokens off your Nestlé cereal boxes and drop into the collection box at the school office.
Tesco Schools Vouchers – please collect these and hand them into your child’s teacher or to the school office.
