Who is Most in Need?  Each week, the Alameda County Community Food Bank serves 49,000 43% children 19% seniors 42% working households

Providing Food to Those in Need  The Food Bank is Alameda County’s central clearinghouse for donated food We distribute through network of 275 organizations  20 million lbs of food annually Clients connect to services through Helpline  Over 3,000 referrals monthly

Sourcing the Food  The Food Bank distributes 20 million lbs of food each year Corporate donations  Feeding America  Local relationships Government programs  USDA Emergency Food Assistance Program  County funded food program Farm to Family

Today’s Food Bank is Different...  We purchase 60% of food distributed Tighter supply chains/ secondary markets mean fewer donations  Over half – 10 million lbs – is farm fresh produce Culled product and market surplus Amazing variety!
