A Virtual Field Trip to Historic Philadelphia By Mrs. Sallee

Attention, Students…..! Today we are going on our field trip to Philadelphia! Hooray!!!

Does everyone have their lunch, coat, and souvenir money? Okay. Line up with your partner.

We ride on the bus, down Route 130 and across the bridge into the city of Philadelphia.

Our group looks at the map to decide where we will go and visit today.

First we will go to the farthest place: Betsy Ross’s House

Look! Some people are singing outside! Let’s listen….

That was a good tour. Now we’ll walk by the Mint. That’s where they make our money!

This is the gravestone of Ben Franklin in the cemetery. You can throw a penny on it for good luck!

Elfreth’s Alley has old fashioned houses on cobbled streets – just like in the old days. People really live here, too!

There’s the First Bank… and the Second Bank

Outside the Jewish Museum we can watch a real play about a man who helped pay for the Revolutionary War.

Who’s hungry? Let’s stop for lunch in the park. Mmmm….that was good!

Franklin Court is fun to visit Ben Franklin lived here You can see pieces of his real house You can talk to famous people on the phones Little dolls act out the life at Court

Are your feet getting tired? Who wants to ride in a horse and buggy around the city?

Ooh! This is fun! Look! There’s the Liberty Bell!

The Liberty Bell has its own special place now.

Independence Hall is very famous. They signed the Declaration of Independence here.

That was our last stop. Now it is time to get back on the bus and go home. We will write about our trip. We will write thank you letters to the PTA for the money for the buggy ride!

Look what we got on the trip!!! Can we go back tomorrow??????
