Gothic fashion is a clothing style marked by dark, mysterious, exotic and complex features. Typical gothic fashion includes colored black hair, black lips and black clothes. Goths wear dark eyeliner and dark fingernail polish. Goth fashion is sometimes confused with heavy metal fashion and emo fashion.

Ted Polhemus described goth fashion as a "profusion of black velvets, lace, fishnets and leather tinged with (=with a touch of) scarlet or purple, accessorized with tightly laced corsets, gloves, precarious (=dangerous) stilettos and silver jewelry depicting religious or occult (=dark)themes". "Goth is a revolt against the slick (smoothly elegant) fashions of the 1970s disco era and a protest against the colorful pastels and extravagance of the 1980s.

The edgy style is more rooted in rock 'n' roll fashion and could really be considered anything "out of the norm." You could go for mod (ern)-looking dresses and leggings, torn jeans with rhinestones or wallet chains, tunics or boat neck shirts with some funky (unconventionally stylish) or flashy designs, chunky (large) necklaces and earrings, fun and colorful flats, or plain black high-heeled boots.

CASUAL

casual is the dress code that emphasizes comfort and personal expression over presentation and uniformity.

The following are not considered casual wear:  Ceremonial dress such as royal robes and full dress military costume  Formal wear such as white tie, tuxedoes or tail-coats.  Semi-formal such as black tie.  Business professional wear such as suits and ties.

 Although it can be considered "informal" in the sense of "not formal" or "suited for everyday use," informal attire (=clothes, appearance) actually refers to a dress code much more formal than casual wear, a step below Semi-formal wear.
