Formatting a Word Document Objectives: The Student will: 1. Create Word Document 2. Use a variety of formatting techniques in the document

Hands on Learning… This is the document we are going to create over the next few assignments

Hands on Learning… Open the ‘Sec “Formatting Instructions.doc” You will be graded on how exact the file is created. All Saves should be done to your flash drive (use My Documents\Class today if you don’t have your flash drive yet) Follow the step by step instructions to create the document – Do not print the file until told to do so.

Gaps in Documents If the spacing in your document isn’t what you want then you need to check the paragraph settings. 1. Select All (Edit Group) 2. Click on the arrow 3. Check the following: Line Spacing (single) Before (0 pt) After (0 pt)

Gaps in Documents A more permanent solution is to reset the default style to Office Click on the Change Styles button 2. Click on Style Set and select Word Click on Change Styles and then click on Set as Default
