Today’s Targets  Identify and analyze the use of literary devices  Develop an awareness of how author’s craft both entertainment and meaning in their writing

Warm-up  What is your favorite book or story?  Why is this your favorite? In other words, what makes it an interesting piece of literature?

Literary Terms Definitions  As we work through the analysis of the Dahl story, write down definitions of the terms on the handout provided.
