Pedestal Grinder (BENCH GRINDER)

PPE Safety Glasses Face Shield Appropriate Footwear Gloves

RISKS Eye or hand injuries Entanglement Cuts or abrasions Burns Small projectiles

BEFORE STARTING Remove rings, watches and other jewelry Check guard position, condition and operation Check grinding wheel condition

BEFORE STARTING Always check the clearance of the TOOL REST. Clearance should never be more than 3mm or 1/8 inch.

TO SAFELY USE STAND TO ONE SIDE when starting up any grinding wheel Grind only on the face of the wheel. Keep work moving from side to side across face of wheel

TO SAFELY USE Hold work firmly against tool rest Feed the work gradually into the wheel. To much force or striking the wheel may cause it to fracture and come apart.

TO SAFELY USE Use vise grips or pliers to grind small pieces Stop the grinder immediately if it begins to vibrate or chatter. Cool your work frequently

WHEN FINISHED Shut off power and wait for machine to completely stop Let machine stop on its own Clean grinding dust from area

FRESHLY GROUND STEEL WILL BE HOT TO THE TOUCH AND MAY HAVE SHARP EDGES BEWARE
