Land Pollution - Biology Project

Pollution??? Pollution…… Land Pollution ~ - Land pollution is -Pollution is the addition to the ecosystem of something which has a detrimental effect on it. Land Pollution ~ - Land pollution is the degradation of the Earth's land surface. = WASTE DEPOSIT + SOIL POLLUTION

Waste Deposit - Land pollution can be caused by the dumping of wastes and deposits. - In Hong Kong, an average of 25,000 tonnes of solid waste were disposed of daily due to human activities of domestic households, commercial and manufacturing business and construction sites in the territory. - solid wastes: plastic, paper and metals. (40%)

Soil Pollution - Land pollution may also lead to soil pollution It is due to … 1. Herbicides (weed killers) 2. Pesticides (poisons which kill insects and other invertebrate pests).

Being Affected??? Harmed!!! When the soil is contaminated …… Then, the toxin is accumulated through the consumers. Finally, human is

~Environment~ Our environment is polluted too! More examples…

All these is caused by ourselves!!!

Solving the problem??? How???

Recycle…….?

It is too inconvenient!

Education anti-litter campaigns Then……

Charge fees for domestic wastes Some more METHODS… Set up laws - restrict the wastes released by industry Charge fees for domestic wastes - Amount of waste Fees charged

The End...
