REAP Projects in CBS An overview of what we’re doing and why its interesting….

Adopting continuous assessment & regular formative feedback  Level 1: Managerial Finance: To reduce ‘tail’ of weak students, implemented 10 low-stake weekly MCQ tests (10% of final grade). Is preparation for end-of- module exam also.  Level 2: Consumer Buyer Behaviour: To improve progression by implementing weekly online tests with feedback (25% of final grade) - replacing end- of-module exam.  Level 3: Business Research Methods: To reduce staff workload and enhance feedback by re-structuring assessment around a portfolio approach - replacing end-of-module exam.

Achieving consistent, useful & timely feedback from large teaching teams  Level 1: Marketing Fundamentals: Implementing large scale summative online testing and providing students with immediate feedback on performance.  Level 1: Organisations & Their Environment: Piloting use of Electronic Voting Systems for formative feedback in lectures  Level 3: Strategic Management: Using Electronic Feedback Software to develop marking criteria, database of frequently used comments, grading descriptors and to compare this with traditional marking.
