2 Two new courses about fundamental physiology Continuous assessment based Module design: 5-6 topics 6-8 lectures given by one lecturer on one topic over two weeks Each topic was finished with a multiple choice test 5 assessments of 20% make the full course mark Student often complaint about lack of feedback with this type of assessment The start

3 The personal response system as an alternative Immediate feedback Normal use within PowerPoint appeared unpractical for an assessment the self-paced mode Students can work in their own pace to maintain flexibility question delivery by PowerPoint is not possible

4 Preparing the session The Interwrite software is used to set up the session The answer key provides the information which answer is correct

5 The session Students answer the questions on their assessment papers Then answers are collected electronically Paper copies are collected as a backup

6 The results Results are directly available and are discussed with the class

8 Student responses Good feedback from students
