Shakespeare Film and Scavenger Hunt Activity

1. Shakespeare wrote during the Renaissance period. 2. Shakespeare wrote for everyone, not one particular class. 3. List 4 of Shakespeare’s plays: 4. Modern writers are constantly reworking his plays to new scenes. 5. Shakespeare was born in 1564 in Stratford upon Avon. 6. At 18 he married Anne Hathaway. 7. In 1592 Shakespeare began acting and writing plays in London.

8. There was no scenery and no way to amplify voices. 9. It was considered morally unacceptable for women to act. 10. Characters often spoke their thoughts aloud in soliloquies. 11. Sometimes, characters spoke directly to the audience in asides. 12. The people that stood at ground level were known as groundlings. 13. Other famous playwrights of Shakespeare’s time included Christopher Marlowe and Ben Johnson.
