conference 2007 What was happening….. Students were travelling large distances and were at higher risk of harm Industry bore the financial and human resource costs No flexibility for content choice for students Industry concerns about currency of training equipment

conference 2007 What’s happening now…. Year 1 apprentice training at local automotive campus Years 2 (2007) & 3 (2008) receive “on the job” training More recognition for OEM / Factory training Greater involvement by industry in the gathering of evidence of competency from the workplace
