Global Dimension & Climate Change Session 6: The flooding council

Session 6 Objectives: All pupils will be able to summarise their findings about flooding between two different countries. Most pupils will be able to suggest how flood prevention may be improved in other countries. Some pupils will be able to suggest economical and political reasons for these differences in impacts, preparedness and recovery in different countries.

Venn Diagram: Think of the effects of flooding in BOTH areas and put them into the diagram. Pakistan UK

Flooding Council You will be split into two teams with a team leader assigned for each team. You have to argue the following question: Pupils need to research using the material from previous lessons, books and the internet. They should look at: – Disease – Biodiversity – Flood defences – Infrastructure – Population and food supplies Should more money be spent on flood prevention in the UK or Pakistan?

What do we think? What should our Action Plan look like? Should more money be spent on flood prevention in the UK or Pakistan?
