What’s Financial Aid? Financial aid is money to help you pay educational costs, such as: Tuition Fees Books Room and board Transportation Personal expenses 4

How Do I Apply? 5 FAFSA Free Application for Federal Student Aid The FAFSA is your first step Used to apply for most types of federal and state aid

Types of Awards Loans – Variety of types with different interest rates and repayment plans. Loans must be repaid. Interest rates are typically much lower than private loans. Grants – Money given by the government that does not have to be repaid. Work Study – A student will get a job and be paid at a higher rate to get the money awarded. It does not have to be repaid.
