How do we decode these models?

Each model has common features - Pressure tendency and/or station id can also be included to the right

Decoding Pressure A good rule of thumb…. A decimal point is always included between the last 2 digits, but does this make sense?...probably not We want the pressure in mb Generally, if the reading is >500, a 9 is placed in front of the SLP. Example: if the pressure = 988, the decoded value would be mb.

Decoding Pressure (cont.) If the reading is below 500, then we add a 10 in front of it. Example: If the pressure = 238, the decoded value would be Showing that this station is under the influence of high pressure
