Physics Revision Formula

Speed Speed is a measurement of how far something has travelled in a certain amount of time. There are three common units: metres per second m/s kilometres per hour km/s miles per hour m.p.h. D = distance S = speed T = time D S X T

Pressure Pressure is a measurement of how much force an item exerts over a particular area. The unit of pressure is the Pascal 1 Pascal = 1 Newton per metre2 1 Pa = 1 N/m2 F = force P = pressure A = area P X A F

Density Density is a measure of the mass of a material for a certain volume of that material. The units for density are: kilograms per metre3 kg/m3 grams per centimetre3 g/cm3 M= mass D = density V = volume M D X V

Moments A moment is a turning force. The unit for a moment is Newton metre Nm Moment = force X distance from the pivot M = F X r e.g. Moment = 8 N X 3.5 m = 28 Nm clockwise If anticlockwise moments = clockwise moments the moments are balanced 8N 3.5 m
