Essential Question: What is the function and purpose of all the body systems that we have looked at so far? Science 7

Next Science Test: “Human Body Systems” Unit Test Date changed to the week of February 29 Study guide is also posted online

Homework: Science I recommend that you complete SLIDE 1-12 from this unit’s review slides if they have not been completed yet DUE DATE FOR REVIEW SLIDES: Week of FEBRUARY 29

Today’s Topic: What is the purpose of all of the system’s of the body we have looked at so far?

Autopsy of the Digestive System: We will be going through a tour of the digestive system using our anatomy dummy “Pat”. As we are going through, I want you to record definitions in your notebook and draw a small diagram in your notebook of where each organ is located.

Diagram of Human Body Systems: Skeletal, Muscular, Respiratory, Circulatory, Digestive, and Excretory (Urinary) Systems You will make a large diagram of all of the systems of the body that we have talked about so far: Draw a human body outline on the paper Draw in the organs and parts of the following systems: skeletal, muscular, respiratory, circulatory, digestive, and excretory (urinary) systems Shade all of the organs and parts from each system the same color (example: all digestive organs and parts red, all skeletal organs and parts blue…) Create boxes on the right side for each of the following organs and parts: bones, skeletal muscles (you can draw a diagram of a pair of skeletal muscles working), heart, arteries, veins, lungs, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, kidneys In each “organ box”, draw the organ and describe its purpose Use numbers to match each “organ box” to where it is on the body diagram
