SACRS Today and Tomorrow: Is It Time For Change - A report by the Ad hoc CEO Committee

SACRS Today - “The mission of this organization shall be to serve the 1937 Act Retirement Systems by exchanging information, providing education and analyzing legislation”

What we do Today - Two semi-annual conferences each year Training courses through UC Berkeley to assist in developing Trustee and staff in pension fundamentals A clearinghouse for Federal and State legislative activity Legislative Analysis and Lobbying

What we could do Tomorrow - Identify problems in plan administration and offer solutions Encourage the development of standards of conduct for control and management of plan assets Counsel SACRS members in the development of procedures Serve as forum for ’37 Act reform Facilitate purchases of services, supplies, etc to gain economies of scale

Why an Executive Director ? A central voice to respond to the public and media Provide continuous support and direction in implementing the Executive Board’s goals and objectives Develop and apply uniform standards Serve as single point of contact for Affiliate members

What’s next? Provide report of findings and future options to the full membership Collect feedback Review feedback with SACRS Executive Board to determine future actions
