Business Source Premier (BSP) Word variants – using wildcards University Library click = next

Wildcards Use wildcards to find variant spellings of a term  * replaces one or more characters  patent* finds: patent, patents, patentable, patented  ? replaces one character  ne?t finds: neat, nest and next  fib?? finds : fiber and fibre Wildcards may be combined:  wom?n* finds: woman, women, women’s and womanhood

* replaces 1 or more characters Valid*

? replaces one character f?rm

Sometimes wildcards are not needed: Variant spellings are searched automatically:  labor finds labor and labour  labour finds labor and labour Entering a term in the singular will automatically also find the plural (but not the other way round)  pattern finds pattern and patterns  woman finds woman and women
