Goal: use division to generate mixed numbers and improper fractions

 Proper Fraction: the numerator is less than the denominator  Improper Fraction: the numerator is greater than or equal to the denominator  Mixed Number: is the sum of a whole number and proper fraction

 Divide the numerator by the denominator. The quotient will be the whole number The remainder will be the numerator The divisor will be the denominator  Simplify (reduce) the fraction if needed

 Ex 4

 Do the Big C! Multiply the denominator by the whole number Add the product to the numerator to find the new numerator Denominator stays the same  Simplify (reduce) the fraction if needed
