Analysing Performance and Gathering Information Preparation of the Body

The Cycle of Analysis Observe/ Re-observe Performance Gather data and collate Identify strengths and weaknesses Confirm weakness(es) by performing Fitness test Plan and implement training programme Retest The purpose of any analysis is to determine if and how any improvement can be made to your performance The Cycle of Analysis is the process we use to identify our strengths and weaknesses within any activity. Using the cycle of analysis, we can continue to improve our performance by regular data collection and appropriate training

Improving Performance Improvement of performance in any activity, through preparation of the body, will depend on the correct assessment of your fitness level and the identification of your requirements. Planning any training programme must be based on the data collected, so that you can determine the eventual success of the programme.

Improving Performance Fitness assessment and testing is vital. Here are the reasons why: It gives valid and objective data It identifies strengths and weaknesses Allows the setting of targets-both long term and short term Gives your starting level, which is useful for monitoring any improvement Allows mid point and end of training comparisons Allows comparison with standardised norms using standardised tests Allows the setting up of an appropriate training programme specific to your own needs. Fitness Assessment

Question Three Explain why it is necessary to gather information on your fitness before planning a training programme.
