TREATING MENTAL DISORDERS AND WHERE TO FIND HELP Jessica Rivera Per.1

Brief summery: My section is about treating mental disorders and where to find help. About one out of one every five adults in this country is likely to suffer from a mental disorder. At the same time during his or her life. The first step towards recovering is recognizing the need for help. So don’t ignore the warning signs of mental disorders.

Main idea: The main idea in this section is in most communities it isn't that difficult to help for mental disorders.

Details: 1.) In many communities, local hospitals have mental-health centers other communities have mental-health clinics or counseling others. 2.) When you have mental disorder you will know if you: Uncontrollably shift moods, persistent feelings of worthless or hopelessness, deepening sadness, sleeping disturbances, can’t concentrate on anything, paralyze attacks or fear of anger, and have trouble of getting a long with others. 3.) Its is important for the class to know because if they know someone who might have a mental disorder, they can help out as well.

Example: A girl, Jennifer Martinez, had a mental illness by the age of 17. They found out that 140 girls with ADHD from ages 12-17, had the same mental disorder as her. Parents didn’t know what to do till a guy (Jospeh Biederman) found a specialist to get help.

How does it relate to the class: I think this topic was very interesting to learn about. I didn’t know that there was so much help for mental disorders. The key points that I want the class to learn about is that if they know someone who has a mental- disorder tell them that you can find help for it. You can make a change in other peoples life.

What is the section about: My section is about treating mental- disorders, and where to find help. In this section I found a lot of hospitals to help the mental disorders. A lot of people don’t think there's help to help them, but there is. So stop suffering and get help now!
