Core Questions What does it mean to be deviant? Why do people deviate? How does society cope with deviance? Does society produce deviance in us?

What to Expect Combine lecture, reading & discussion Book: Investigating Deviance by Jacobs Often begin with something open-ended Current events, a question, a story, etc. I encourage you to participate Good way for me to learn who you are

Grading 3 Exams, short answer – 60% Graded by Silver 5 Writing assignment, 3-4 pages – 40% Graded by TAs, drop lowest grade Extra credit assignments TBA – as questions come up in class
