Action Plan: 21 st Century teaching and Learning Skills Presenter: Susheila B. Palattao

Action Plan: Application of technology and 21 st century teaching learning skills in chemistry classes using computer applications: MS Word, Excel and MS PowerPoint and the internet.

Goals Develop instructional material that will enhance student’s creativity and teamwork with the use of technology. Create assessment tool and evaluation with the use of technology.

Instructional Strategies and Task Strategy: I will provide wide range of activities that will develop collaboration, interaction and cooperation among the learners

Instructional Strategies and Task Tasks: Allow students to interact and collaborate using the internet like applying Web-Enhanced Learning Activities Allow students to make group projects and assignments Change classroom settings providing more spaces for student interaction and group activities.

Timeline Considering School Year

1.Search for activities that will require teamwork and collaboration among learners 2. Search for Web Enhanced Learning Activities that will be used in the class 3. Make a list of activities and note the activities that will be integrated in the lessons May – June: Gathering of resources

June - July 1. Create Grade book for my chemistry classes 2. Prepare a schedule of activities 3. Make a curriculum preview to introduce lessons and activities that the learners will engage into.

June 2012 – March 2013: Curriculum Instruction Implementation 1 st Quarter: Group Dynamics and Interactive Activities 2 nd Quarter: Applying Web-Enhanced Learning Activity 3 rd Quarter: Applying Web-Enhanced Learning Activity 4 th Quarter: Group Project

Resources Internet Sources: 1.ICT integration in Chemistry 2. Web-Enhanced Learning Environmental Strategies/ Web Designing the Web for teaching and Learning 3. Science Activities/Chemistry Group Activities and Projects

Challenges and Solutions Challenges: Availability of computer and internet in the application of Web-Enhanced Learning Activities Other classes will be disturb with the possible noisy environment of students during group activities

Challenges and Solutions Solutions: Schedule ahead of time the ICT lab in-charge in the use of computer and internet and re-schedule the activity in case of power interruption or internet inaccessibility. Make some back-up plan for the lesson. Inform teacher of other classes ahead of time of the activities and ask students not to make some loud noises that will distract other classes.

Thank you for listening…
