The Roman Empire By Davis Guthier

The weapons and armor they had in the Roman Army The Roman equipment (especially armor) gave them ‘’a distinct advantage over their barbarian enemies.’’ Here is a list of their basic equipment: Cassis- Helmet Lorica Segmentata-armor Gladius Sword, in. long Pilium- medium-length throwing spear Scutum –shield Red Battle Cloak Sandals

Contributions the Roman Empire created that helps us today. The Roman Empire first invented roads and bridges that lead the way to Rome. That helps us today because roads helps us travel more quickly. Use of aqueducts to bring water to the cities and irrigation. It helps us today because we get water to our cities. The Romans invented the Latin Language which is still used today as root words in English.

Famous Battles Battle of Carrhae was Fought in June 53 BC. I read that twenty thousand were said to have died and ten thousand were taken prisoner during this battle. It was the worst Roman defeat since the loss to Hannibal at Cannae in 216 BC.

Rivals of the Roman Empire Boudicca was the queen of the tribe The Iceni which was a rebellion that almost through the Romans out of England. Judaea the king of Israel when Jesus was alive he used to be under the Roman rule and the romans taxed the Jews.

Land taken over by Roman Empire On the right there is a picture of the Roman Empire the land they have taken over is In the purple. Here on the right in the red is the earlier picture of the Roman Empire as you can see they captured land as the Years go on. They captured a lot of land shown above. On the right the orange is the eastern empire and In the purplish color is the western empire. They Were so massive that they created to empires.

Question How was the Roman Empire important to the modern world? The answer is that they invented important technology that still helps us today. Such as roads, aqueducts, and the Latin language. Also, they made armor that we still use today (However, we are more advanced today and we use this technology in bullet proof vests).

Learning target I found out this information by using primary and secondary resources. A primary source would be looking at a real example of it such as the road shown on the contribution slide and also below. Also, a secondary source is when the information is not exactly from the primary source.
