Working Group on Pesticide Education, Training and Certification  Goal to standardize education, training and certification across Canada  Developed Core and Category Standard for all classes of applicators/vendors  Provinces use Standard to develop provincial training manuals and examinations

Benefits of the Standard  Allows provinces to recognize other provincial certificates/licenses that meet the Standard  Industry Associations endorse and support Standard.  Education of applicators consistent and defendable.  Precursor for development of regional/national manuals and examinations

Standard for Pesticide Education Training and Certification  Originally completed in 1995  Revisions to date:  Core module updated in 2003  Landscape Category Module updated in 2004  Structural Category Module updated 2005  Aerial Category Module completed (in final stages of approval)  Agriculture Category Module to be update in 2005/06  Online at
