Using g gg good and w ww well 1.Poppa buys a g gg good pair of pants. 2.Big Mama sews w ww well. Good is an adjective. It always describes a noun. Well is an adverb. It tells how something is done. In sentence 1, good describes the pair of pants. It tells what kind of pants Poppa buys. In sentence 2, well describes how Big Mama sews.

Think Aloud I saw a very ___________ movie last night. (good, well) First, I’ll read the sentence to myself. Next, I’ll ask myself if it is describing a noun or if it is telling how something is done. I’m describing the movie, and “movie” is a noun, so I need to use the adjective, good. good
