Andy Warhol Pop Art is one of the major art movements of the twentieth century. Work from this movement depict objects that reflect a popular mass culture, like advertising, comic books and other every day objects. At one point in Warhol’s career he created silkscreen prints declaring that he wanted to be "a machine“. Monochromatic Color Schemes You will be painting your painting using a monochromatic color scheme. You may choose from: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple. Each painting will be different tints & shades of the color you chose. The background will be the complimentary color of your focal point. Example- if your painting is a monochromatic blue painting, the background will be orange.

Instructions LIGHTLY trace the picture of your object on the thick 8x10 paper. LIGHTLY label your values from 1-5 on each section. Paint your object in a monochromatic color scheme. Paint the background of your painting in the complimentary color.

Criteria for Success Correctly label your values from 1-5 on your paper. Paint the 5 different tints & shades in the correct place of each painting so the painting appears monochromatic. Paint the background the complimentary color of your monochromatic color. Use excellent craftsmanship, nice neat brushstrokes, clean edges, and no white paper showing.
